Wine Country Weekend Fundraiser
Inaugural Wine Country Weekend Raises Over $1 Million in Napa Valley featured food, heroes, softball, and music in support of brain health and wellness for veterans, first responders and healthcare providers
GRAMMY award-winning singer and actor Tim McGraw partnered with renowned American restaurateur, Emmy award winning and Food Network star, Chef Guy Fieri to raise over $1 million at the inaugural Wine Country Weekend, held October 21 & 22, 2022 in the Napa Valley. Created in association with The Guy Fieri Foundation, The Neighbor’s Keeper Advised Fund, and The Tug McGraw Foundation, the event raised awareness and support for our nation’s veterans, first responders, and healthcare providers.
Guests enjoyed two days of fun, beginning with Cabs, Culinary and Country at Silver Oak Wine Cellars in Oakville on Friday evening. This exclusive event featured delicious culinary offerings from several noted chefs including Rocco DiSpirito, Aaron May, Antonia Lofaso, Domenica Catelli, Hunter Fieri, Crista Luedtke, Bobby Marcotte and Tracey Shepos, perfectly paired with Silver Oak and Twomey wines. Bids flowed at the silent and live auctions, followed by an incredible performance by superstar Tim McGraw with opening act, Napa’s own wine country band The Silverado Pickups.
Saturday’s festivities included the Heroes BBQ as Chef Fieri prepared a BBQ feast to honor the residents of Yountville Veterans Home, as well as the healthcare providers and first responders of the community. Attendees were able to meet Fieri and McGraw as they helped serve the meal alongside the crew. Following the BBQ, guests were treated to the very entertaining Game for Heroes celebrity softball classic where McGraw and Fieri traded in their cowboy boots and chef coats for softball cleats and jerseys. The game was punctuated by two classic military helicopter flyovers, one with Vietnam veteran Geoff Carr on board who delivered the game ball with a surprise ball drop as a tribute to the all the veterans in attendance from WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm to Post 9-11. An instant classic, the game featured celebrities from sports and entertainment, as well as hometown heroes, including first responders, veterans, healthcare professionals, and sponsors who love the game of softball. Team Guy bested Team McGraw, but the fans were the ultimate winners of this friendly, fun, and competitive game.
All proceeds benefit The Guy Fieri Foundation, The Neighbor’s Keeper Advised Fund, and The Tug McGraw Foundation, to further their work with the nation's heroes and vulnerable populations.
